Looking After You Too for NHS staff from ethnic minority backgrounds: Booking your first session

Welcome to Looking After You Too: an individual coaching support offer for staff working in the NHS from ethnic minority backgrounds.

This confidential service aims to support staff maintain psychological wellbeing. Through individually tailored coaching sessions which will focus on proactively supporting you to process experiences, deal with difficult conversations, develop coping skills and develop practical strategies to maintain your health and wellbeing.

This one to one health and wellbeing coaching is provided by a highly skilled and experienced coach from an ethnic minority background. It might be that through a one-off conversation you find all the strategies and goals that you need to cope with your situation and stay well or you might find a few sessions helpful. It is all led by you.

Your coach will follow the professional code of ethics and your conversations will be confidential. The only potential exception to this is if information is disclosed that the coach reasonably believes there is an imminent or likely risk of danger or harm to you or others, in which case they will discuss a potential referral with you.

Who is it for?

Anyone who is employed by the NHS or working with an NHS funded employer and identifies as being from an ethnic minority background.

How does it work?

The sessions will be delivered virtually, preferably via a video platform, but telephone appointments are also available. Subsequent sessions will be dependent on the conversation between you and your coach. Your coach might signpost you on to further support if they think this might be helpful. You may receive follow-up emails to support you in maintaining your wellness once your coaching sessions have finished.
