The psychological nutrients for thriving – Activity
Begin by thinking about your own psychological needs at work. To what extent does this research chime with your own experiences? Do these describe the factors that, when met, help you thrive? What, if anything, is missing for you?
How are you currently getting these psychological needs met? What could you request of others that could help with this? If you feel you have an unmet need, have at least one conversation with a colleague about this, and explore what can be done to help provide the ‘nutrient’ you are lacking.
How can you help provide these ‘psychological nutrients’ to others? Pick at least one of these factors and describe how you can help others in your team to access this psychological nutrient. Put a plan in place and record this in your journal.
Experiment with your plan and record what happened and what outcome was achieved.
